Project description
Here in 2012 I delivered and installed a sheep barn for Norwegian white sheep, 600 sheep. The building is 1130 square meters + another floor in parts of the building. The client was primarily concerned with well-being and good production. At the same time, they wanted the facade to fit in with traditions for using lath, which you can see many examples of in Gudbrandsdalen. We developed our own method for attaching 2-inch boards to the outside of sandwich elements. The construction site was, like many other places in Norway, on the side of a valley. By pulling the building lengthwise, the masses were used to create an intun with space for machinery and transport. We delivered galvanized transverse beams that were supported by concrete columns. The beams form the basis for a slatted floor with a free fall to the manure cellar. Inside, the barn has light washable surfaces, and some large windows that let in plenty of light. A second floor has also been added, which gives you a good overview of the barn from the inside. The builder has provided 180 lambing pens with drinking troughs. Plenty of space and plenty of movement are priorities to promote well-being for the animals.
